ROLE | PRIME CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGNER

This project was performed under the Design-Build Delivery Method. CK was the prime civil engineering designer. This project demonstrates CK’s experience using project specific design criteria, delivering complex time sensitive projects, working and coordinating with diverse team of consultants, contractors, and Stakeholders. The scope of work included advance planning to identify facility best fit layout for the tracks and switches, running surfaces and joint design parameters. Other elements of work during design involved surveying, material testing and geotechnical engineering for building foundation design, water, sewer and storm drainage systems, dry utilities coordination, access road and parking lot grading and drainage plans. As lead designer, CK coordinated with multiple stakeholders, including the project owner, contractors, operators, and project architect. CK was also responsible for designing and securing permit from the City of Phoenix Planning Department for the construction of the train Maintenance and Storage facility. We coordinated with FAA, Aviation Operations Section and DCS.
